Family Fun Night

A couple weekends ago, we went to a parenting conference by Tim Kimmel. The conference was great. He basically helped build a framework/worldview for parenting. The basis of his approach is to treat our children the way God treats us, with grace balanced by truth. For any of you parents out there, I'd definitely recommend trying to find a conference near you. Here is his website: http://www.familymatters.net/Page.aspx?pid=183

Anyway, what does this have to do with this post? After the conference, Chad and I decided to set some specific goals related to what we learned and we decided to have a regular family night. 2 Friday nights a month we have Family Night, 1 night we have a date night, and 1 night a month one of us will take Megan on a date (the other parent gets the night off).

Phase 1: Because Megan is pretty easy to please, we decided to have a "picnic" in the foyer. She thought this was pretty cool.

Phase 2: We spent about an hour playing play-doh, which is one of her favorite things to do.

Phase 3: Ice cream!
